Friday 5th - Sunday 7th July 2019
Escape to the beautiful countryside of Oxfordshire for a weekend of total harp immersion with friendly tutors, delicious meals, inspiring concerts and peaceful surroundings. Now in it's 6th year, the adult harp retreat is open to pedal and non pedal harpists of all abilities and takes place at Charney Manor, a 13th century conference and retreat centre in the village of Charney Basset near Wantage. Rachel Newton and Keziah Thomas lead classes and workshops which concentrate on ensemble playing, improvisation and performance. As well as working in groups divided by ability, there is also a public concert, a musical party and plenty of time for private practise...or socialising!
The accommodation consists of single occupancy ensuite bedrooms with tea and coffee making facilities. Charney Manor is renowned for its excellent home cooked meals which are included in the cost of the retreat. Non participating relatives/guests are welcome to join the weekend, sharing a bedroom with a participant.
Non participating guest (sharing a room with a participant including, meals and concert entry) £200
Participants are expected to bring their own harp, stool, music stand and tuner. There are a limited number of harps supplied by Pilgrim Harps available to borrow on a first come first served basis
The course runs from 5pm on Friday 5th July until 4.30pm on Sunday 7th July 2019
